KUWAIT: Libya's opposition figure Mahmoud Jibril said on Monday that the rebel council presented the names of mercenaries to the International Criminal Court, which included a Kurdish and a Lebanese, involved in hiring the fighters and bringing weapons to Libya to support Gaddafi's forces. "Death could be the only way for a better life in Libya," said Jibril. Gaddafi aimed at internationalizing the Libyan crisis through the mercenaries in order to drag international forces, thus urge the rebels to untie with him and fight the "crusaders," added Jibril. He asserted that the uprisings in the Arab world happened as a result of a "Globalized Culture" adopted by the Arab youth, unlike the "Culture of Fear" which the Arab regimes sought to create through the history. "The strength of the Arab Security Systems used to rely on a 'culture of fear' built overtime, however social media networks and the satellite television helped the Arab youth to create a new values and overcome those fears." As to the reason behind the uprising in Libya, he explained that it was a result to several factors such as high unemployment rate which reached 30 percent, lack of the adequate healthcare systems, and pessimism among the youth. When asked about the current situation in Misrata, he said that Gaddafi aims to control the mountains area in order to announce his own federal, recalling the similar incident in 1963 when Libya was three federals and also a second reason could be to attract the rebels and the international community to ground battles." As to Gaddafi's appearances on television, he said, "Those people are his own security members and if he had this amount of supports I would guarantee you daily protests in Tripoli." Meanwhile, the Libyan Minister of Information within the National Transitional Council Mahmoud Shamam said that he had the honor to meet His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Monday. Shamam said that he conveyed the appreciation of the Libyan people to the Amir for the great humanitarian and political role played by Kuwait to support the Libyan people. Speaking to reporters in the Parliament, Shamam said that the Amir told us that the government and the people of Kuwait support all moves that lead to the good and stability of Libya, adding that the Amir said, "We receive you because we recognize you". Shamam asked the Amir to employ his diplomatic experience to help them get recognized by more countries and to help them to promote the Libyan political and diplomatic action. He went on to say that the Libyan delegation requested a loan to meet the urgent needs but His Highness the Amir decided to donate 50 million dinars to support the Libyan people. He added that the Libyan delegation visited the Parliament to offer condolences to the Speaker of the Parliament Jassem Al-Kharafi on the death of the dear departed Nasser Al-Kharafi. He added that the people of Libya appreciate the role played by the Kuwaiti parliament which expressed full support to the Libyan people to get their freedom and enjoy democracy
